After Minnesota United lost 1-0 to Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night, manager Adrian Heath and center back Michael Boxall said poor officiating contributed to the result. While it played a role, blaming the referees distracts from MNUFC’s primary issues. The Loons failed to convert multiple scoring chances and a glaring defensive lapse at left fullback led to their latest letdown at Allianz Field this season.Referee Tori Penso didn’t call a foul on Andreu Fountas for impeding Emanuel Reynoso at the 82:04 mark in the second half. On replay, Fountas was not seen grabbing Reynoso, who appears to embellish the amount of contact. Fountas had been booked with yellow card in the first half and a second would have put K.C. down to 10 men, ratcheting up the stakes within the no-call. It wasn’t a denial of a goal-scoring opportunity, either, with another K.C. defender within a few yards of the action. More importantly, the no-call did not have a domino effect to the goal conceded. The game ...Man who punched and bit St. Paul police officer during arrest given probation, returns to home state

There will be another 5% increase across the board in January of 2027. The money will cover costs of maintenance, reconstruction and rehabilitation for the 570-mile thruway. Our Capitol Correspondent, Amal Tlaige reached out to the Thruway Authority to set up an interview with their team or one of their 16 board members, but was refused any sort of interview. Costs associated with thruway repairs are usually covered under the Capital Plan, but the Thruway Authority said the plan doesn’t cover the $470 million needed in capital projects. Senator Joe Griffo said the toll hike is part of a bigger problem that's contributing to people leaving New York, "It's the excessive tax burde...State efforts to register voters ahead of election day

By ADAM BEAM and AMY TAXIN (Associated Press)SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California regulators on Tuesday ordered one of the country’s oldest bottled water brands to stop using some of the natural springs it has relied on for more than 100 years to market its products throughout the western U.S.Arrowhead bottled water traces its roots to the Arrowhead Springs Hotel, which first opened in 1885 and began selling bottled spring water from its basement in 1906. But environmental and community groups say the company has never had legal permission to take water from the springs that flow out of the San Bernardino Mountains. They say the company’s actions have dried up Strawberry Creek, harming the environment and making the area more prone to wildfires.Tuesday, the State Water Resources Control Board voted unanimously to order BlueTriton — the company that owns the Arrowhead brand — to stop taking water from a number of springs. The order does not ban the compa...Latest news
